About Us

Graeme Lyn & Graeme Dickson, principals of Warralinga Alpaca Stud have a wealth of industry knowledge and experience. They can provide professional, friendly advice to support all aspects of your alpaca enterprise, whether you are involved for lifestyle, fun or profit (or maybe even all three!)

They are proud to have worked with Dr. Jane Vaughan (BVSc PhD MACVSc) with cutting edge technology in the area of advanced alpaca reproductive techniques using ET (Embryo Transfer); the Warralinga philosophy being that you never stop learning about these wonderful animals. Consequently they keep open minds to any new scientific principles in the areas of breeding, genetics and fleece production, participating in the AAA AGE programme for genetic evaluation.

Breeding alpacas since 1992, Lyn & Graeme have been involved, boots and all, since the early days of the Australian alpaca industry, having both served as volunteers for the Australian Alpaca Association Ltd over a number of years at national and regional level.

Lyn Graeme has been recognised for this service by having the honour of Life Membership of the AAA bestowed on him and continues in an active volunteer role, currently as President of the Hawkesbury/Blue Mountains Region. He has also convened the AAA National Alpaca Show and organised many National Auctions on behalf of the AAA. In 2008 Lyn & Graeme co-convened the inaugural International Fleece Show as part of the World Alpaca Conference in Sydney.

In a previous life B.A (Before Alpacas), Graeme was employed as National Marketing Manager for a large Australian manufacturing company, before setting up his own importing business. Lyn worked for many years as a Human Resources Manager for a well-known national corporate entity, and has recently returned to the paid workforce in a new HR role for a local rural business.

Lyn is an accredited alpaca judge both in Australia and internationally, having trained at the rigorous IAJS in Peru. Amongst her Australian judging appointments over the years are all the major shows, such as Sydney, Melbourne and Perth Royals as well as two AAA National Shows. She has also judged major shows in USA and Germany, the Futurity in Canada on two occasions, the British National Show in 2007 and the New Zealand National Show in 2008.

Lyn & Graeme have been actively engaged in many educational seminars over the years on behalf of the AAA, and also teach newcomers to the industry about the pleasures of alpaca ownership via the TAFE course in Alpaca Production conducted by Richmond NSW TAFE College.
